What happens when a professional landscaper reimagines the American lawn?

Byron Tribe, owner of EarthFirst Landscapes in Katy, Texas, recently brought his vision from the large scale commercial designs he typically works on, to his own front lawn.

Byron and his wife, Nicki bought this 1952 Mid-Century Modern Fixer-Upper in 2016 and drew inspiration from his experience in the commercial landscaping field to complete this total transformation. “It takes a lot of talented people to pull off something like this,” commented Tribe. “Pete Simpson and Forest Hunt at TerraLab Landscape Architects took our vision and brought it to reality, taking the property to the next level and literally stopping traffic on Avenue D in old Katy as people drive by.”

The beautifully renovated property includes features, such as a Corten Steel Fountain, Corten Steel Planter, Permeable Gravel Driveway, Synthetic Turf accents, Latitude 36 Bermuda, Cathedral Live Oak, Natchez Crape Myrtles, Carolina Jessamine, Mexican Feather Grass, Cherokee Sedge, Sandy Leaf Fig Ivy, Rosemary Tuscan Blue, Lindheimer Muhly, Agave Americana, Agave Butterfinger, Forest Pansy Redbuds, Hunter Hydrawise Pro WiFi Irrigation Controller, Hunter Flow Meter, Drip Irrigation for all beds and turf, Rainwater Harvesting System, Blackstar Gravel and Sonoma Salt & Pepper Gravel.
